My invitation is to see your body of work through a similar lens. For others, it's about the community for some, it might be about the personal growth the journey requires. These memes, with caution to the subtle hierarchy they imply, become levels of engagement for people.įor some, our curriculum is everything. Our invitation to people is built around a set of primary memes. This strategy has been proven again and again and is a system that is adaptable to individual circumstances and yet rigid enough to provide the scaffolding required for change. We don't just talk about freedom we have an actionable plan for making it possible. The doubt is fair and valid but while our systems and processes might be one part ideology, they are nine parts strategy. The curious sceptic might question the possibility of earning half to one and a half million a year selling your time in a practice model, 50-200 days a year, with one or maybe two staff. In the words of Mike and Pip, two of our tribe, it's entirely possible. Over the last few decades, hundreds of people from all disciplines and styles have succeeded at being commercially smart around sharing what they know. So yes, it's a little romantic in theory. And we also appreciate this is a privilege not afforded to all. You never need a vacation from your vocation. And we believe everyone can do work they love, with people they like, the way they want. We believe thinkers should be free of dogma and doctrine, free to work in and out of the systems of society. Thought Leaders' strong ideology around liberty and freedom might sometimes seem fanciful. Let's spend some time this week thinking about meaning. This week, I am exploring an overarching question for you does your work hold a strong sense of meaning? We often sacrifice money at the altar of meaning and can sometimes believe we can't make money and make a difference. However, if you find yourself suffering a lot of mental anguish due to intrusive thoughts, therapy could be the solution.This newsletter might seem a little 'us, Thought Leaders Inc' focussed but I share it so you can model the process for your practice. They can be very scary, but they can’t physically hurt you. ![]() You can have intrusive thoughts about anything, but just because you have them, it doesn’t mean they are true. Meditation is a great way to practise breathing and letting yourself, and your thoughts, be. Just take some deep breaths and let them come. Don’t try to counter them, or negate them in any way. It’s not easy, especially at the start, but try to sit with your thoughts and let them wash over you. Plus, you shouldn’t let anything stop you from doing the things you love! This only makes the worry seem more important in your mind – you’ve given it more validation – and will actually worsen any anxiety. But avoiding meeting your friends is not the answer. The more you worry about it, the more true the concern seems. For example, after meeting friends, you constantly worry that you have said something to upset them. You might find that you experience a certain intrusive thought when you are in a particular situation. That is not the case at all – you are not your thoughts, and thoughts are not always true. However, we spend too much time focusing on these thoughts and think because they are there, they must be true. Our brain is a complex organ, and it’s capable of putting the most random thoughts into our heads. We have over 6000 thoughts a day – and we aren’t in charge of the majority of them. ![]() Understand that you are not your thoughts If your intrusive thoughts are getting in the way of your life, we advise speaking to a therapist, but there are also some self-help things you can do.
